SUMMARY
Solar weather occurs when the Sun produces a storm which travels through space, through solar wind, and interferes with the Earth's magnetosphere. The solar wind that carries the Sun's particles travel away form the Sun at about 1 million mph. When the particles reach the magnetosphere, they react with the oxygen and nitrogen atoms which then produce the colors of the aurora borealis. This website will look at the major elements of solar weather.
